ACTION NEEDED: Post-Election Volunteering

As I am sure you are aware, New York is a swing state for Congress this year. There are a number of hotly contested contests where we expect there may be challenges to vote by mail, affidavit and absentee ballots.

Given the over-heated rhetoric around tomorrow’s election, we are continuing our volunteer Election Protection program past election day.  We are looking for people in your county to come to the County Board of Election’s ballot canvassing within the next couple of days.

Historically, the practice of observing the canvassing of ballots is common in other states outside of New York and extremely helpful – that’s why we’re looking to continue and expand the post-election part of our Election Protection program here in New York.

Our volunteers will observe the canvassing of ballots to look for inconsistencies and report any sort of disruption at canvassing sites. Each county has a different day for canvasses and a different process – we will be offering training for all who are interested.

Interested? Let us know by putting your information down on this short form. Then, RSVP for our Zoom training to learn more at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 6th. If you can’t make it to the training, we will have the recorded training available for you to watch on your own time.

I'LL VOLUNTEER

RSVP FOR TRAINING

This year, our work after Election Day is not over – we need to make sure we attend these ballot canvasses to get a full picture of our election here in New York and to provide non-partisan information regarding the way ballots are counted and our elections results decided. Volunteers must be available to attend the canvasses in person perhaps as early as later this week.

If you’re interested in learning more at all, please fill out our interest form and then RSVP for the training at 6:00 on Wednesday on ZoomIf you can’t make it to the training, we will have the recorded training available for you to watch on your own time.

Please join us if you can to provide eye-witness accounts refuting disinformation about the way ballots are counted and results determined.
