Something we don't like to think about, but we must

You are passionate about what's happening in the world around you. You want be powerful and create change. You research the issues, contribute to the dialogue, participate in your community – and most importantly – you vote. Not only do you vote – you reach out and make sure others are voting as well.
But: is your vote being counted? And is it being counted for the candidate and the issues that you support? That is much harder to know. We need to become informed.
Election security is a hot topic right now. We know that in 2016 our elections experiencedinterference. Voter registration databases were targeted and even successfully hacked. Were the votes changed? What about results in your local races – can you be confident that they're correct?
The results of the 2016 election were a shock to many, but election experts are also warning about the possibility of catastrophic failure in 2020 as our electoral system is pushed to the breaking point by the pandemic, tight budgets, a lack of preparation, and partisan warfare.
It's imperative that we meet these challenges.
Every issue that we want to move forward on depends on our voting system functioning correctly.
Join election security activists as we explore this critical issue. We'll look at actual election results from the 2020 primaries that may not be correct, get up to speed on how voting machines can be hacked, and join together in actions to ensure that our democracy lives up to its promise that all eligible voters can vote – and that each of those votes counts as it was intended.
This event is the third forum in a non-partisan coalition-building series to inform, empower and connect advocates on #ElectionReform. This forum will focus on Foreign Interference and Insider Rigging.
We have two special guests and an incredible film clip:
o the Co-Director of the HBO documentary Killchain, Russ Michaels, is with us on video. We did an interview with him about the jaw-dropping situation he discovered while making the film, and will show a clip of that interview. (He can't be with us live due to the time difference in the UK, where he lives.)
o We have permission to show one of the most gripping clips from HBO's Killchain.
o Professor Douglas Jones has a story about insider rigging that you have not heard anywhere else. He is a computer science professor at the University of Iowa, and served on the Election Assistance Commission’s Technical Guidelines Development Committee for four years.
