Common Cause: Sponsor a volunteer! Ahead of the runoff, we urgently need an infusion of resources to ramp up our nonpartisan Election Protection program. Our team has been working non-stop to defend EVERY voter’s rights — and I’m simply amazed at what we’ve been able to accomplish together so far.

Allegra, I’m writing to you from Common Cause Georgia — where all eyes are on our state’s runoff election.
Right now, we are preparing to step up and continue our work to protect EVERY voter. We spent Tuesday — and all year — watching closely to stop the types of voter suppression, election lies, and intimidation we saw in the 2020 Election.
Now, as the entire nation’s eyes turn to Georgia’s Senate runoff — I’m writing to you because we need your help. Common Cause Georgia has the expertise and already-built organizing network to mobilize and protect the rights of each and every voter during this all-important runoff election.
But we put nearly all we had into the general election, and can’t keep this work going through December 6 without you. And now that we must do just that, I urgently need your support to field every volunteer who signs up — so that no voter is silenced during this hugely important runoff election.
Common Cause Georgia has spent years building relationships that will make all the difference in the coming weeks. We’ve been fighting for voters’ rights — working with county election officials across the state — to make sure every voter can cast their ballot safely and free from obstruction.
That record drove the success of our Election Protection work over the last month, with our state seeing its highest-ever midterm voter turnout.
That turnout came in spite of a shameful attempt by our state legislature to suppress votes — culminating in Georgia’s notorious voter suppression bill they passed last year.
But I want you to know that thanks to the support of Common Cause members like you, we were able to make a MAJOR impact for voters in our state and across the country.
Now — with control of the United States Senate potentially in the balance, millions in special interest money pouring in, and the attention of every election denier in the country focused on Georgia — we simply must be ready for anything.
I’m writing to you today because, ahead of the runoff, we urgently need an infusion of resources to ramp up our nonpartisan Election Protection program. Our team has been working non-stop to defend EVERY voter’s rights — and I’m simply amazed at what we’ve been able to accomplish together so far.
But Allegra, we’ll now be forced to double our efforts between today and the December 6 runoff if we want to make sure every single vote counts — and that means springing into action immediately.
The 2022 election has already been among the most divisive and high-stakes midterms in decades. And now, Georgia voters are right at the center of it.
I’m taking the time to write to you because we urgently need to budget for this runoff election — and the size of our operation will depend on whether we get support from Common Cause members, like you, all across the nation. And by showing your support early, your action will go even further.
I’ve seen the difference our massive volunteer operation made all year, and it’s absolutely imperative we keep it running for the next month — without skipping a single beat.
That’s because we’re expecting even more attention — and sadly, more cynical and shameful attempts to suppress the vote — in our state than we've seen all year. And training, equipping, and placing the surge of volunteers we’re expecting will be expensive and time-consuming — but absolutely necessary.
YES, I'LL SPONSOR A VOLUNTEER!
With the unprecedented speed of this election — just four weeks away, compared to nine weeks after the 2020 election — you can know your donation will make an immediate, direct impact on thousands of voters.
I hope you can pitch in what you can today. Thank you for your support, and for all you are doing for our democracy.
