Kristi Noem is out as head of Department of Homeland Security. Hurray!
Now the Department of Homeland Security needs experienced leadership to deal with the heightened threats of terrorism due to the illegal and immoral war on Iran.
It needs experienced leadership to protect our elections from foreign interference.
It needs experienced leadership to reform ICE .
It does NOT need nominee Markwayne Mullin, an election denying hack. We need Homeland Security, not Mullin, who will spend his time working to rig the November elections.
Putting Markwayne Mullin in charge of the Department of Homeland Security puts us all at risk. We need competence, not more incompetence and cruelty. Our Senators must block this appointment.
Homeland security? We know New York is in Iran's crosshairs. We know terrorism first hand. Remember how they almost took out a dam in Rye, NY with a cyberattack? Iran can target our water, our electricity, our internet, our gas pumps, our elections, whatever critical infrastructure they want. Not from the sky, but from inside our infrastructure.
Now just imagine a world in which the federal government decides not to help protect the Homeland from such attacks. But that’s the world we are in. Today the White House has halted a federal security bulletin warning of a heightened threat to the U.S. in light of the conflict in Iran.
